The Forsyth Panthers enjoyed the best season this past year that they have had in some time.
The Panthers won 20 games, they won the Forsyth and Walnut Grove Tournaments, and made it to the championship game of the Sparta Tournament. The also went undefeated in the Southwest Central League claiming the League Title. By any account it was a hugely successful year.
2018-2019 will mark a time of change in the program. The Panthers are leaving the Southwest Central League and will now compete as a member of the Mid-Lakes Conference. A talented group of seniors say “good bye” including Machaiah Rocha and Anthony Stanford. Also gone is athletic director Chris Padgett; he will be moving up the Administrative Chain. That job will be left in the hands of the very capable Jim Voliva.
This past week, we found out that the changes will not stop there. Head Coach Josh Hart has accepted a coaching position with Logan-Rogersville and will be leaving the program. Hart has been instrumental in rebuilding the Proud Panther Program. For his success Hart was the 2017-2018 Perry Phillips Broadcasting Coach of the Year. The former Branson assistant brought a high energy approach that resulted in great success on and off the court.
From a personal standpoint, he has been great to work with. He would always do anything possible to help us and to promote the program and most importantly the athletes within it. He will be sorely missed.
The search for a successor will start immediately.
